It has been prominent for many years that Apple has been ruling over the tech world for quite some time. However, in the past couple of years, it has been made clear why they are at this high level of power. Apple has been officially accused of being a monopoly by the Department of Justice in which they will be pursuing legal actions.

Background

It is well-known globally that Apple has been leading the production of tech ever since it came out with the first popular technology in 2006. Ever since then, Apple has been the favorable option over opposing technology. As time went on Apple began doing questionable sales tactics to promote their products. Some even came after Apple and attempted to sue them for their aggressive ways, all of the lawsuits put up against Apple needed to be dismissed. This then caught the attention of the Department of Justice which led them to investigate further.

How Did Apple Do It?

There are many tactics Apple used to make other tech companies seem “unappealing”. This included making Apple techs such as the Apple Pencil and Apple Watch difficult to connect with outside devices like Android. Apple also utilized the translation of green text and cartoon emojis to psychologically engrave in the owner's mind that foreign companies were lesser than Apple itself. Apple also created aggressive and long payment plans that lasted over 2 years to keep customers or sign buyers up for the new iPhone every year to keep their consumers locked in. All of these tactics are considered aggressive in the eyes of the Department of Justice which the public doesn’t often see from other companies.

What Will Happen To Apple?

Apple is currently being investigated for being a “monopoly”. If Apple is found guilty it will result in Apple either having to change their ways or shut down completely.
